Film Production

Republic Airport has become a cost-effective filming location for a broad range of metropolitan based production companies.

With its secure, controlled environment and open spaces, the airport has hosted productions ranging from commercials and television programs to feature films and streaming service shows and movies. The airport has two runways and several taxiways available to rent, along with a Main Terminal building with passenger lobby, numerous aircraft ramps and hangars, and a WWII-era hangar and museum that offer an authentic historical feel. Locations at Republic have been used for both aviation and non-aviation scenes.

User fees for many of these assets are set in Codes, Rules, and Regulations mandated by the State of New York. Our tenants also rent their buildings and/or ramps to film productions, and there are many different styles of buildings and areas on the airport available.

Recent productions at Republic Airport include Blue Bloods, FBI: Most Wanted, The Equalizer, Billions, The Flight Attendant, Manifest, Law & Order, The Blacklist, Royal Pains, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. The feature film, "Salt," used many locations at Republic as it met many of the demands of cast, crew, and script.

The airport staff, its general aviation tenants, and Republic's unique aviation museum all work with location managers and crews to make filming as successful as possible and they enjoy a reputation for solid professionalism, security, and cooperation.
